Some Advice on Packing

Start copying from packing list \:  You don't need to take too much on safari

Wilderness Air Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe, Mack Air and Major Blue:  Officially, the maximum dimensions of check-in baggage is 14 inches wide x 12 inches high and 28 inches long. Bags are allowed to have a rigid structure at the base – including wheels and/or a collapsible handle, such as the Patagonia Black Hole Duffel 70L (www.Patagonia.com) or the High Sierra Fairlead 28" Duffel (www.highsierra.com). Alternatively, standard soft duffel bags may be used, such as the Battinkill Classic (www.orvis.com), Beretta Waxwear Duffel (www.berretta.com), or Dalix Adventure Sport (www.dalix.com).  Remember that all legs of your journey offer a laundry service, which helps significantly in keeping clothing requirements down.

Wilderness Air Namibia and Not Wilderness Air: Officially, the maximum dimensions of check-in baggage is 16 inches wide x 12 inches high and 24 inches long, such as the Pine Creek Cargo Bag in large from www.equinoxltd.com. Although, we have found that larger bags can generally be used as long as they are soft on all sides, with no wheels, such as the Battinkill Classic (www.orvis.com), Beretta Waxwear Duffel (www.beretta.com), or Dalix Adventure Sport (www.dalix.com).  If you would like the convenience of wheels, we would suggest that you purchase a lightweight foldable luggage cart (such as Samsonite, at www.shop.samsonite.com) to transport your bag at the airports. The cart can be stored inside the duffel while flying. Remember that all legs of your journey offer a laundry service, which helps significantly in keeping clothing requirements down.

Federal Air: Officially, the maximum dimensions of check-in baggage is 16 inches wide x 12 inches high and 24 inches long, although we have found that slightly larger bags will be accommodated by Federal Air. Bags are allowed to have a rigid structure at the base – including wheels and/or a collapsible handle, such as the Patagonia Black Hole Duffel 70L(www.Patagonia.com) or the High Sierra Fairlead 28" Duffel (www.highsierra.com).
