Respecting Wildlife

Always remember that you are a guest in the wild places that you will be entering, and you should treat the inhabitants with respect and dignity.

  • After your guide has escorted you back to your room at night you must stay there. Everything that you could need can be found in your room, and moving around in the dark exposes you to unnecessary dangers.
  • Never leave the camp without your guide - heading off on your own for a jog or a walk is very dangerous and strictly forbidden.
  • Observe the animals silently and with minimum disturbance to their natural activities. Loud talking can frighten the animals away.
  • Never attempt to attract an animal's attention -  Don't imitate sounds, clap your hands, or throw objects.
  • Respect the judgement of your guide about your proximity to animals.
  • Never stand up in the safari vehicle at sightings of potentially dangerous animals.
  • Never litter - it is not only unsightly, but can kill animals - "Take nothing but memories, leave nothing but your footprints. " Also, please refrain from smoking on game-drives as the dry African bush ignites very easily and the smoke may bother other guests or your guide.
  • Never attempt to touch or feed wild animals.
  • Never attempt to approach wild animals on foot unless accompanied by your guide.
