Inclusions / Exclusions
Whatever accommodation, meals, and activities have been outlined in your itinerary are included in the costing. Some of the other potential expenses that may be relevant are as follows:
- Travel Insurance. Emergency evacuation and medical insurance are compulsory components of any Classic Africa booking - please be sure that you have insurance coverage for these two vital (and inexpensive) elements of travel insurance. We also very strongly recommend trip cancellation and curtailment insurance: properties are very strict in applying cancellation penalties (per our terms and conditions), and clients who have to cancel (or curtail) their trips must rely on trip cancellation insurance to cover them for such losses.
- At city hotels, lunch and dinner are not included; nor are drinks, laundry service, phone calls, internet service, tours, etc. (unless otherwise indicated).
- Most safari camps and lodges include laundry services in their rates, and those that don't charge a nominal fee. Due to local customs, staff will sometimes not wash underwear ("smalls"), in which case the camp or lodge will provide washing powder in your room for this purpose.
- Visa fees are not included; where applicable neither are certain airport taxes (as outlined under "Exclusions" in your travel itinerary).
- Park entry fees. In most cases, park entry fees are included in the cost of the safari camps and lodges. This can change at short notice, so please consult the "Exclusions" paragraph in your trip itinerary, and ask us if you are uncertain.
- "Optional extra" safari activities. Most activities at safari camps and lodges are included in the rate (for example, game-drives, nature walks, Mekoro rides, canoe trips, river cruises). Optional extra activities might include hot-air ballooning, scenic helicopter flights, or any other activities that are listed as "optional extras" in your itinerary. Also, spa treatments are always an additional cost.
- Most safari camps and lodges include a wide range of beverages in their rates. There are, however, a few exceptions - please consult your itinerary to see where drinks are included, and ask us if you have any questions.
