Time Zone

Southern Africa is two hours ahead of Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). In other words, during our summer, the region is six hours ahead of Eastern Daylight Time. During our winter, when we move to Standard Time, the time difference increases to 7 hours (i.e. they are seven hours ahead of us).

Kenya and Tanzania are three hours ahead of Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). In other words, during our summer, they are seven hours ahead of Eastern Daylight Time. During our winter, when we move to Standard Time, the time difference increases to 8 hours (i.e. they are eight hours ahead of us). Rwanda is two hours ahead of UTC, so it is 6 hours ahead of Eastern Time during our summer (when we are on Daylight Time), and 7 hours ahead during our winter (when we are on Standard Time).
